Show: Family Guy (Modern)
Episode: S10E22b Fatman and Robin

The first bonus review! Here, I'll talk about stuff that I don't think deserves a full review or isn't good enough or bad enough to warrant a review. Today's bonus review is on the controversial Family Guy episode, Fatman and Robin.
For the record, I am a huge fan of Robin Williams, and it was pretty tragic that he passed so soon. What I am not a huge fan of, is modern Family Guy. Obviously. However, there's always a few diamonds in the rough. And this is one of them.
Now, let me give some coverage on this episode. One of the biggest controversies that Family Guy has created is that they predicted the Boston Marathon bombing. This is because there was a cutaway gag involving Peter driving a car through the marathon, with obvious deaths. Now, that's only one gag, so imagine a full episode at people's reins. The obvious answer, though, is that Family Guy hasn't predicted shit. This episode came out in 2012. Robin died in 2014. There's no fucking coincidence. So people need to stop trying to frame Family Guy for obvious bullshit they didn't do. I absolutely hate the later seasons but I don't hate it enough to try to get other people to hate it.
Alright, that's enough of that. Let's talk about the actual episode. I really like this one. The general plot is that Peter is given the power to turn anyone into Robin Williams. An obvious parody of the Golden Touch but surprisingly enough they parody it really well. So, why am I not doing this as a full review? Well, this isn't a full episode. It's roughly 6 and a half minutes, and is part of a 3-part viewer mail episode. So there's not much to talk about. To give you the gist, Peter's power goes out of control literally turning anything into Robin Williams, Peter goes crazy to the point of sending all the Robins out into the world, as well as cutting off his own hands. Family Guy normally NEVER does creepy right (Fresh Heir being a prime example), but this episode is one of those rare times that they do get creepy right. Keep the episode in spirit to The Golden Touch. The whole experience left me legitimately entertained. Another interesting fact about this one is that there are no cutaway gags.
Now, does the episode insult Robin in any way? Some could say yes, others no. Personally, it's not much of an insult. There were no "Robin Williams is a terrible actor" jokes, the most insulting it got was when Peter said most of the material is repeated. Otherwise, it's like a miniature roast of Robin Williams.
So overall, not all of Modern Family Guy is bad, and when it isn't bad, it's creating controversies all over the internet. I'm so proud of you, humanity.
